Mandatory efficiency grade label
Korea has introduced a mandatory Minimum Energy Performance Standard (MEPS) scheme for low voltage motors. The MEPS scheme applies to 2-, 4-, 6- and 8-pole motors in the 0.75-200 kW range, up to 600V 60Hz. The following types of motors are excluded: hazardous area, TEAO and TENV, smoke extraction, marine and 2-speed motors, and motors with sleeve or thrust bearings.
TEAO = Totally Enclosed Air Over, rated TENV = Totally Enclosed Not Ventilated
